Win XP (Pro) OR Win XP (Pro) with SP1?

I have a hard disk with 5 partitions. C: has Win 98 SE and D: has Win XP (Pro). Lately My XP (Pro) has been hanging a lot so I have to uninstall it and reinstall it or install one with SP1.

Here is couple of stupid questions.

How do I uninstall old one?

Would new OS format the drive or do I have to manually do it?
Should I install old XP or XP with SP1?

If you boot off the WinXP CD it will allow you to select the partition to install on. Select your D partition, allow it to do an NTFS format, and install.

As for SP1, I reccommend it.
