I want to build a top of the line gaming rig in about 6 months. Does nvidia or ATI plan to release any new cards by that time?

There's been speculation that ATI's next generation card will come out late spring, early summer. But who knows if that will be a real release, with product available, or a paper release, with product not available until fall or later.

Yeah, NVidia seems tight lipped, with rumors being they keep cancelling their known/rumored future NV47,48,50,etc. But ATI's R520 is expected to be released during the first half of this year. So there is a chance that if you are building that dream machine for Summer gaming, you could get a card that is far superior to what we have available today. We shall see if ATI delivers, and how far along NV is with a response. I am looking forward to hearing more specs for R520. There are guesses all over the place, but little is really known.
