So I got this "Corporate edition" which I was told to install and download service pack 1. It was working fine until about twenty days after the download when I got a lot of "Win32 parite notification from my AVG virus detect.
Did I do something wrong in installing the SP1? Did MS find that it was a dubious copy and installed a bad download. I thought that if it was a false copy, it would not let you download. I have this OS on another system and it is working fine. It is a corporate edition, so 1 key should let me install it on a few computers. Yes?

Yah, im in the same boat except when I installed corporate, after a year when I go to update it gives an error reading "cannot verify this copy of xp" or some such. Tried getting around this by installing separate packs off of cds rather than the website and still no luck.

If you are using a copied version of xp pro there is a way of changing the key to allow you to update.I couldn't install sp1 until i got this program.Either search on kazaa for 'xp key generator' or something like that or PM me and i will email the program to you. It's only 47Kb.

no matter how hard you try, you can't polish a turd. :]

YOU NEED TO DOWNLOAD THIS
And follow the instructions:

<A HREF="http://users.telenet.be/mercenary/Cr WinXP SP1/XPProCorp-keyChanger.exe" target="_new">http://users.telenet.be/mercenary/Cr WinXP SP1/XPProCorp-keyChanger.exe</A>

This works for Corporate Edition.

the windows update online is the only problem i encountered. I'll have just to do it manually.
