opinion about video card upgrade

My current system: P4 2.26GHz, 1GB PC2700, 160GB Maxtor HD with Radeon 8500LE 64MB video card. I just bought a HDTV wonder. It works well, but when i record High Definition TV, it runs a little bit choppy. I am wondering if it will help provide i upgrade my video card to Radeon 9600 pro or better. Thanks for your suggestions.

Hard to say. I wouldn't bet on it helping though, what's being taxed is most likely the rest of your system... your CPU, memory subsystem, and hard disk.
