Hi, not sure this is the right help group but hope someone can help. I read
somewhere that you cannot repair XP from your original Windows disk if you
have SP2 installed. I have some glitches that need to be repaired and don't
want to format, but don't want to try a repair from CD till I find out if
above is true or not ?
Thanks for the help, Macoo.

You can use XP Repair Install. But you must follow this by re-installing
SP2 - as well as Windows Updates.

Yes you can perform a Repair Install from the original CD.
But...you will end up with the Service Pack level of the original CD.
If the CD has SP-1, you will end up with SP-1.

You can also slipstream SP-2 into the CD and thus end up with SP-2.
But all subsequent updates will still need to be installed.
