AGP 4x board with latest cards?

Hi,

I'm buying a card for a Dell Optiplex system that has an AGP 4x port. Does it make sense to shell out for one of the latest 8x cards like the ATI Radeon X800 XT Platinum? Will I see the difference in performance from an older card or will the 4x port negate the faster card's features?

Nah, 4x vs 8x is not worth mentioning. The rest of your system will be more of a factor than the AGP data multiplier.

Craskmans correct whats ur system specs? most dells are not great but do the job kind of.
