I've been shopping around for a budget gaming laptop and was refered to the Lenovo Y580 model by someone on these forums and was wondering if there were any others you guys know of around the same price with similar specs. I've already considered the Asus g75 but decided against it as it seems overkill for what I need and also I've generally only heard bad things about their customer service. Also, would it be wise to wait for the holiday season to shop for one on sale or buy this one while it is already on sale? I don't remember seeing too many mid-range ones during the holiday season

My consideration is the $839.20 model 2nd from the left: http://shop.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/controller/e/web/LenovoPortal/en_US/catalog.workflow:category.details?current-catalog-id=12F0696583E04D86B9B79B0FEC01C087&current-category-id=AC523278A4F13F27A84F5F5622D1AC7A

Lol, good point, Leveno laptops for the most part are design with business use in mind. Dont believe me compare them to a brand like asus. Leveno does not have a "gaming" series laptop, Where Asus does. Im not saying that a leveno will not play games fine I am just saying a entry level leveno is not going to be as good for games as a Asus that cost the same in a gaming series branch.

Brand and cost don't matter in the laptop's quality. What matters is actual performance of the graphics and CPU (along with a few other parts such as the memory and such, but generally to lesser extents). Lenovo laptops won't perform any worse than Asus laptops with comparable hardware. Whether or not there are Lenovo laptops with comparable hardware would be the issue to consider.
