FAR CRY PROBLEM

Well, guys just got new comp, specs in signature, I installed Far Cry and i must admit, it is very hard to run. I can play Half life 2 on max setting everything and get 130fps, but for Far Cry, im using medium-low setting and it's getting 80fps. During actions it slow's down alot to liek 20fps.. Any suggestions.???

Have you Installed the Far Cry Patches or updates yet?

Yes i have, Just did all the patches, all windows update, adn using v1.3 now. It got a lil smoother but i can fingure out what seeting to set it on. I usually get 60fps with High seeting on and AA/AF on 2-4x, Is that good, becasue when i get into action, the graphics slow down tremendiously, liek down to 12-15 fps.

It's a new machine so you've no "Old Drivers" to worry about. Hmm are you sure nothing else is running in the background while playing? Have you trimmed down the numer of processes that load at start-up? Did you build it yourself or did it come from a company that may have loaded a bunch of junk on it? This is all I can think of. I play FarCry ALOT and I've been able to get great rates with a rig a bit more powerfull than yours but you definately should have better FPS than you're getting.

yes it is a brand new system. I built it myselft. I has a problem with spoolsv.exe taking alot of cpu% but i fixed that problem. Loading times are decent,,, but when there is alot of action on the screen, it will slow donw soo much that i will die
