My Powercolor 9600pro with 2.8ns memory (ran 480/700 core/mem) has served me well...but the 6600 GT in AGP form was too sweet to pass up.

I was just gonna uninstall ATI drivers and swap it but I've heard too many of the horror stories about crap performance.

Does anybody have any experience with this upgrade or any suggestions? Please hurry, the box is sitting there taunting me...

WOW...my sig still has my ti4200 in it! It's been a while..

Fan clip is busted. Heatsink popped off as soon as I took it out of the package. :-(

Back to the store tomorrow...hope they have another one.

While ATI -> nV offers far less hassles usually, why risk it. Use DriverCleaner, and you should be ok. If you want to be sure, most people here suggest a complete reinstall of the OS.

Updated my sig...

So I brought it back to the store. Waiting on word for a new one cuz their policy is that items with 'physical damage' have to be sent to the main office, could be up to a week. :p

I can live with my 9600 for a few more days, but if they don't give me a new card I think I'm gonna flip.

Well one of the main reasons I bought was because the original XFX fan looked pretty good.
