What's everyone's opinion on the best vid card for under $200?

Assuming US$ for an AGP card and not PCI-e: a GF6600GT on sale would be the best, or a 256-bit Radeon 9800 pro would be second best.

If you can stretch the budget to $230+ you may be able to find a GF6800 on sale, which is better than these other two. Beyond the GF6800, it's a big jump to $350+ for the higher end cards like the GF6800GT, X800pro or X800XT.

Where could you get Geforce 6800 for $230?

They have been that low with no rebates. Either BestBuy or Compusa had one for $199 after rebate one time.

Cheapest I know of today is a this <A HREF="http://shop3.outpost.com/product/4082672?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG" target="_new">BFG GF6800 OC</A>, which is exactly the same they charge for the 6600GT also. But otherwise check your local newspaper ads as well as <A HREF="http://www.techbargains.com" target="_new">http://www.techbargains.com</A>. I'll post back here if I come across a cheaper on this week.

Outpost also has the <A HREF="http://shop3.outpost.com/product/4082632?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG" target="_new">BFG GF6800 Ultra OC for $449</A> and it's in stock.

By the way, the <A HREF="http://shop3.outpost.com/product/3628345?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG" target="_new">BBA 9800 pro is back in stock at $179</A> also. So from them, $250 for BFG GF6800 OC, $250 for all the 6600GT's, $180 for BBA 9800 pro 256-bit, makes me say the GF6000GT's are the worst buy of the three at that site.
