Question about RAR(compressed format)

I noticed in the cpu guide that they mentioned something about backing up games in RAR. I'm new to the gaming stuff and would like to know what this is and how do I do it. Does anyone know of a good place to learn how to do this. How does this help games?

It's a nagware, it works fine even if you don't register or "crack" it. Only after 40 days of use, you'll be asked to register everytime you start WinRAR

I've tryied thoso key-gen in 3dmark2003 and they worked, but you can't publish the results on the net.

P4-2800->FSB800, Asus P4P800, 512DDR-400, Creative GeForce DDR (the first one lol)
