I cant stand the fact that i pay 600 dollars for a video card and when i turn up the aa or af for better picture i get real laggy and my frame rates crash way down they shouldnt try and b.s people if those features cant be used my brother has a 9700 and he has very little impact when his settings are turned up but my nvidia titanium 4600 just cant handle it. My cousin turns his graphics way down on his ati 9600 when he plays unreal and that pisses me off because i thought the whole point was to get the best experiance possible I want to play at 1600 with all the eye candy and not experiance any lag that would be perfect i have so many posts from people saying it is not worth it and that they actually took thier sli set up back.i want to know why tomshardware shows huge performance gains across many games and people arent happy with it? i know its super expensive and theres no pci/agp performance difference but what about these benchmarks http://graphics.tomshardware.com/graphic/20041123/index.html

pentium 4 3.2
oczpc3500 el ddr platinum matched ddr433
western digital raptor 74 gig 10k rpm
8knxp gigabyte
geforce 4 titanium 4600(i know get a faster card)soon!

Probably because it doesn't work in all games.

Save yourself some cash and get an X850XTpe.

Here is an article you might find informative if you are not already aware of the situation

You can proabably form ur own opinion after that.

The link from [H] to the <A HREF="http://www.nzone.com/object/nzone_sli_scalableapps.html" target="_new">NV chart</A>, showing the games that are supported is a good one to look at. An example I see that is not there is MOHPA, which could definately use a profile as it is a very demanding game. Now the game has flopped to some degree, but for fans of the series who want to play it, when if ever will NV create a profile for that game? This will be a trend IMO that few older titles will get profiles and many new games won't get profiles, while the most popular new ones, especially ones used for benchmarks, will definately get a profile. Look again at NV's chart, see any synthetic and game's used by all review sites for benchies? Otherwise why would TROAD be a top priority, besides that they keep getting spanked at it in review benchies. Can't blame them for starting with those, but as [H] exposes, SLI might do nothing for you in the game you want to play.

From the 'link' you posted, here's a perfect example of why SLI is not always a good thing.

<A HREF="http://graphics.tomshardware.com/graphic/20041123/sli-performance-20.html" target="_new">http://graphics.tomshardware.com/graphic/20041123/sli-performance-20.html</A>

even upping the AA/AF doesn't change things;

<A HREF="http://graphics.tomshardware.com/graphic/20041123/sli-performance-21.html" target="_new">http://graphics.tomshardware.com/graphic/20041123/sli-performance-21.html</A>

The SLI setups actually run slower than the non SLI, so depending on the application, you can actually reduce your performance for more than twice the price (special MoBo, stronger PSU).
