well i have probably gone about this the hardest way possible. i got a
copy of REVENGE of arcade on CD, no dice. i got a copy of the original
return of arcade (ebay, came on floppy) and now i have ordered but not
yet received the 20yr aniversary edition of return of arcade 2.0 on cd.
could anyone be more specific about what version installs
automatically? i have a standing as opposed to cocktail table style
arcade legends machine running v2.06. do you need to be at the system
setup menu? boot the machine with the game in the cd rom drive etc.? I
too have heard this automatic install story from sources i consider to
be reliable, but thought it would be so easy i didnt get enough detail.
now i am out over $200 and own multiple licenses for the same games,
none of which i can play yet on my legends machine

More about : automatic install pacman pacman pole position

It depends on what version of the system software you have on your arcade
legends. You'll need the return of the arcade, I think.. Just hold down
player 1 button 1 after you put the CD in. You just put it in while the
arcade legends is booted up and at the game select menu. If that doesn't
work you'll need the old school way to install it which is a 10 or 12 button
combo which I don't have. It will not install Pole Position, but it should
install Ms. Pac, Pac, Galaxian and Dig Dug I think...

good luck, Scott

I've been wondering about the Arcade Legends, and how it's
set-up. Is it just a PC running a glorified version of
MAME or it is a lot more custom that that. If it's running
the games mentioned below, it sounds like a PC running
Windows and non-MAME games???
