Hi guys, i am sorry if a topic same as this has been posted before. If so just post the link as replies please. If not then my question is which out of 9600 XT and 9700 Pro is a better card. My main purpose is playing Flight Simulator and LOMAC.

Thanks

No doubt: 9700Pro beats 9600Xt in every kind of round!

P4-2800->FSB800, Asus P4P800, 512DDR-400, Creative GeForce DDR (the first one lol)

The biggest reason for this is because the 9700PRO has double the memory interface at 256-bit versus 9600XT's 128-bit memory interface.

My brother runs a 9700PRO, and I was thoroughly impressed with how well that card can run current games such as HL2, CS:S, Doom3, etc.

The second biggest reason the 9700 PRO kill sthe 9600XT is that the 9700 has twice the pipelines (8 vs the 9600's 4)...

Yeah, just make sure you buy a real one and not one that has 128-bit mem. interface...

I don't think there exists a 9700 with a 128-bit memory interface. All 9700's I've seen are 256-bit.
