I'm looking to upgrade my vid card from a GF5200 to either 9800 Pro or the 6600GT..at the moment I think the GT but what would be best for my current system..both are more or less same price range only couple £ in it

P4 2.8 (533 Northwood)
768meg PC2100
500w PSU
2 Ide Hard Drives
Pioneer 106 dvd-r
Sony CDRW
17" TFT

6600GT. Almost always outperforms the 9800Pro. Personally, don't understand how they can charge so much for the 9800Pro

Well, the price difference is becoming less and less. Now that the 6600GT AGP is $200 online, and a real 256-bit 9800 pro is at best $10-15 cheaper, then the 6600GT is a better deal. But the 9800 pro had been $20 lower (my retail BBA was $170) and the 6600GT AGP started out $230+. So, it does seem that the 9800 pro has almost completely lost it's great bang-for-buck status.

Both are very good cards but I'd go with the 6600GT if the prices are close.
