What would cause a PP to blow the big 20A (maybe 25, i forget off hand)
32v fuse in the power brick, seemingly for no apparent reason?
The game works fine, the AR2's were known good ones (i repaired them
and overhauled them personally for this person) and the problem occurs
on two completely seperate power bricks. One of which had been in use
on my bench for testing vector games for months without issue.
The only thing i can think of is that we don't have any 32v fuses so
we're using 240v 20A rather than 32v 20A, but surely that would be over
rating it, not under rating it, wouldn't it?
Don't suppose this is a common thing is it?
Don't remember if this is a PP2 board or a PP1 board, or if it does it
on both.

Common problem. Pole Position is an energy hog. Get a good quality
inline fuseholder rated for 20 amps at a local auto parts shop. Use
this fuseholder to replace the existing fuseholder for that 20 amp
fuse. The old fuseholder couldn't handle the high current demands.

Doesn't a failing bridge on the underside of the brick cause this also?
Fixed my issues a few times after replacing it.

If the bridge rectifier was bad (shorted) the fuse would blow
immediately on power up each and every time. His problem was that the
fuse was blowing randomly after being on for a while. Atari issued a
service bulletin many years ago describing just what I suggested to do.
