are their any performance differences between the 6800GT agp and the pci-e version? because its about $160 more for the pci-e version and i don't want to spend all that money for the same thing.

No performance difference. Just supply/demand differences. PCI-e GF6800 series cards have been rare, and SLI hopefuls have been grabbing the ones that are out there.

It Depends on the price. Typically I'd say the Ultra is a ripoff considering how good the GF6800GT performs for $100 less. That said, I just ordered a 6800U recently because at $350 I couldn't resist as it was priced the same as a good price on a 6800GT.

Are you buying from a local shop? You should be able to find a GF6800GT for around $350 online and an Ultra for around $450. Brands will vary though as sometimes it's an eVgA, other times BFG, and most often PNY. Anyway, when it's $100 difference, the GT is a far better deal. At $50, it's more a toss up and I would probably go with the GT still. When it's less than $50, then I'd go with the Ultra.

That's assuming same brand. I'd probably get swayed one way or the other by brand as I'd pay a few bucks more for a BFG than a PNY. (my personal preference that's all) But if a a PNY ultra was $30 more than a BFG 6800GT, I'd go with the PNY. Likewise, a BFG Ultra for $50 over a PNY GT would probably get my vote. They are all good brands it seems, so 20 bucks one way or the other is all it takes to sway me. It's not like comparing a HIS to a GeCube in ATI cards, then it would take alot more savings to make me consider GeCube.
