I just put together my new system and my computer won't boot. I just got the A64 3000 and the Chaintech VNF4 Ultra. I hooked the system up and then the power light just flashes like it's in standby mode. I don't have a standby mode so that is what's got me going crazy.
I tried 3 different PSU's and tested the video card in another computer, so I know it's working. I already RMA'ed the mobo and CPU once, but it's creating the same problem again. Is it possible that newegg just got a bad shipment of motherboards?
F.Y.I. The system still doesn't post with just the RAM, CPU and video card connected. I also took it out of the case and put it on a box to check for grounding, but that doesn't fix it. Do you guys think this is a bad mobo? Thanks in advance.
[-peep-] it could be the motherboard but sometimes if the cpu is not seated properly it could stop it from starting or your cpu could be damaged, then again if your heatsink is not attached properly or all wires are not connected to the MB, like what rpm its doing this could stop it from booting or it could be the case buttons being faulty or you have not wired it correctly to the case.
I went to Fry's today and got the DFI NF4 Ultra mobo and it's working great. I will send back the chaintech to Newegg for a refund. I doubt I will ever buy a chaintech again...too many problems with their products.
