I just finished helping a friend build a pc out of old parts from his old pcs-stupid I know but- for some reason we aren't getting and video. The monitor does not go to hibernate, like it normally would if the pc were off or if it were just getting no video throughput. The monitor green light stays on as if the monitor were on. We checked the card in another pc and it worked fine. any suggestions?

If the monitor's too old it might not take the signal from a newer card.
