Hey guys,

I was wondering if you could tell me of some good programs for ripping DVDs, both to VOB and avi/divx files. Ideally there is one program out there that will do all of this in just a few clicks and thats free but I doubt I'll be so lucky. If you guys know of any good programs for this I'd love to know.

Currently I use the DVD decrypter/DVD shrink combo but it's not the best since it's a two part process you can't start it and leave it be. That's not a big deal and I can live with it but i need something to make the AVI's either from the DVD or from the VOBs already ripped to my HDD.

Any help would be great...thanks guys

I personally use a two part process...I haven't found a one stop shop yet.

I use DVD Shrink / Decrypter to get my .iso's and from there I use, quite possibly, the greatest program ever written: Super from erightsoft.net. I can drop the .iso straight in there and have it spit out .avi's

Hope that helps :D

Check out Handbrake, and DVD43 for getting rid of decryption while you are ripping the DVD with Handbrake.

For converting back to DVD check out DVD flick

To backup DVD on your computer, you'd better backup your DVD to ISO.
For Mac OS users, Aimersoft DVD Backup for Mac is the best choice to backup DVD on Mac. As I know, it can backup your DVD movies to ISO/VIDEO_TS/dvdmedia or a new DVD Disc.

Hi guys!
My pleasure to give you my suggestions.
According to my own experience using DVD RIppers, I am convinced that there is DVD sofware called Pavtube DVD Ripper powerful in ripping DVD, I used it and found it supports plenty of video and audio formats such as MP4, 3GP, 3G2, AVI, MPG. MOV, AVI, FLV, MKA, VOB, SWF, MP3, FLAC, OGG, WAV, AC3, M4A, MP3, WAV, etc.
Comparing with other rippers, I prefer Pavtube one because of its fast conversion speed and its pretty good output video and audio whcih satisfy me.It is said that this software applies unique audio and video sync technology which can guarantee the audio and video match.
I hope it will be of great help for you:)

You need a dvd ripper program to help. I personally use Cucusoft Ultimate DVD Converter. It converts DVDs to play on almost any portable device including iPod, iPhone, Zune, PSP, video capable MP3 players, video capable mobile phones, Pocket P.C.
Free download at: http://dvd-video-soft.com/dvdconverter/cucusoft-ultimate-dvd-converter.html
