IMAC 27" DISPLAY PROBLEM

Forum Mac OS X : Drivers IMAC 27" DISPLAY PROBLEM

Word :    Username :

Just bought an IMAC with 27" screen. Within a week or so, the screen began to divide.....1/3 of the bottom content goes to the top of the screen....midway, the screen the toolbar (FILE,EDIT,VIEW, etc.) divides the upper 1/3 display and the 2/3 lower display. Sometimes it corrects itself but most of the time I have to restart the computer to get a full screen back. The screen also will go BLACK for about 2 seconds before regaining content. I called Apple Support & the best the Tach could do was tell me to take it to APPLE for repair. The IMAC is bulky and heavy, the store is in a mall & difficult to get to. Has anyone else out there had this problem??? Seems like a software problem, not hardware.

A brand new machine - I'd take Apple's advice. There have been a number of reported problems with this particular iMac.

Take it to apple before you break it worse and void the warranty.

Return it and buy a PC.

Call Apple for support. Apple support is good and should be used while you're under warranty. A problem like that is probably a hardware issue which will require an Apple Tech to resolve.
