sorry, I missed the text.
I have a sony vaio vgn-s260. Like 4 weeks ago it started shutting down
continually. The only solution I found is to uninstall or completly remove
the video drivers. I am looking for a solution in windows, where they say me
to go sony, where they send me to ati, where they send me to sony.
I have xp sp2, and my guess is that the problem strated when upgrading xp.

I know that you have uninstalled the drivers and I'm sure tried reinstalling
them, but have you tried a fresh download?perhaps the drivers you have are
somehow corrupted.(Or not SP2 compatable). The drivers in the link below
should be SP2 compatable.

I tried, but did not work. The only thing that does is uninstalling the
drivers, but then I only can see 2/3 rds of the screen!
