I updated to Microsoft Windows Media Player 10 a while back and i formatted
my pc and installed windows xp pro and media player 10 few days ago but the
icons for the music files have not changed they are the same as the music
file icons for older media player version. Why is that happenning.
Everything is fine just the look of the icons is not right.

Verify the defaulticon value in this registry key (or via File Types dialog)

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\mp3file\DefaultIcon

Mine is set to "C:\PROGRA~1\WINDOW~2\wmplayer.exe,-120" (WMP 10)
