X850 AGP to come at CeBit.

The InQ one again reports on the R481/X850AGP;

So it should be seen around March, but they say to espect to buy them in April.

That's good news for those like me who are happy to stick to there AGP setups for a year or so. NF3Ultra owners (as well as early S754 owners, i875p, i865pe, NF2U400) shouldn't "need" a system upgrade for a while, while it now seems that PCI-e will be the way to go for future new systems. (as reasonably priced pci-e performance cards are becoming avaialable)

I'd be curious how prices will be, and what variations show up. Still hope the bridged X800 & X800XL's aren't too far off either. But with the plain X800 pro still out and about, how much room is there for X800XL AGP's, and can they possible add a bridge and price them significantly lower than X850 pro?

Could they possibly release all these in AGP? X800XT and XTpe supply will dry up (even more) when X850AGP comes out.

X850XTpe
X850XT
X850pro
X850se?
X800XL?
X800?

X800XTpe
X800XT
X800pro
X800se

I am most curious what ATI plans to offer AGP owners just above the 9800 pro. Say in the $200-300 range. Right now it's a big void that points people to GF6600GT and GF6800.

We there have been 'reported' apperances of the X800XL-AGP on 3D-Centre's forums, but I'm not sure if it's the X800XL or the X800SE as some people have been saying. Until they take the HSF off there's no way to tell:

It's using the X700XT's cooler but the board is AGP, so at worst it's just an X800SE with the loud X700 cooler, at best it's an X800LX or X700XT on AGP. Either of which would be interesting.

I couldn't make heads or tails out of that link. All the letters are jumbled up like it's not even english.

Should be interesting to see if more talks come up.

The X800 and X800XL are native PCI-e cards (R430 chip). ATI is working on a PCI-e to AGP bridge chip called Rialto, that will allow these native PCI-e solutions to be used in AGP motherboards. NVidia is doing this already with the AGP GF6600GT's, which are native PCI-e also. We know that ATI is working on this Rialto bridge chip, and we have even seen pics of it now. What we don't know yet is what cards they will use it on. Probably R430 (x800 & X800XL) would be first as we see they are already going to make a native AGP X850 line (R481). Hopefully they will also use this bridge later on the native PCI-e R520 based cards...keeping another AGP generation alive.
