Try something very basic to insure foreign objects are not lodged below keys
in the keyboard.
Pick it up, turn it upside down, and shake it -- tap it --- to get gunk out.
Carefully use a small vacuum over the surface of keyboard.
I'm thinking something is lodged under the space bar.
