Well Hanners is reporting it, and it's been all over the 3Dcentre website, it appears that Splinter Cell Chaos theory will be PS1.1 and PS3.0 only. No option for PS2.0,

It is unlikely that this is for any reason other than the "TWIMTBP' program, even if you bring FP-HDR into the equation. The funy thing is that by doing this they aren't just cutting out ATI owners, but all the FX owners too (well they'd probably be playing PS2.0 forced to PS1.1 anyways). And if it is to implement HDR, then you can count out anything below the GF6600GT for any kind of performance.
It'll be interesting to see if they add PS2.0 support for the final game, but grumblings are they probably won't. Truthfully this may be one of the few games that WOULD be suited for SM3.0 and FP-HDR, in that Splinter Cell is your classic low FPS creeper game, that makes great use of light/shadows (more so than D3 IMO). Considering there's already the Xbox version out too, it's obvious which markets they are focusing on short term with the 1.1 and 3.0 support.
Some people are saying that it shows support for PS3.0 when a GF6xxx is plugged in an PS2.0 when an R9800 is plugged in so this may simply provide options based on DEviceID, but that's not what's being said in other forums.
- You need a licence to buy a gun, but they'll sell anyone a stamp (or internet account) ! - RED GREEN GA to SK
