Why would it not be legit? If you legally purchase on of the TV games
consoles and hack it for a cabinet, you have broken no law nor infringed
on any copyright (excepting cabinet artwork).

it's because the tv-game things are infringing... there was a big thing
about them being all snagged at mall's and such this past Christmas with a
Namco (among others) crackdown...
just because YOU paid for it doesn't give you a right to re-sell it if it
was illegal to be sold to you in the first place.

You're right. I believe I spoke spoke too soon (hadn't had my coffee
yet). Assuming that the games are legally licensed from Namco (I
thought that they were) and that the unit was bought legally, no
problem. Just like if I sold you a CD. The side art, as you say, is
probably a different story.
