Guru3D reviews the HIS IceQII Turbo X800XL

The check it out in a few game, OC it a bit (still dissapointed that this 110nm core OCs far less than my 130nm R9600P even with this awesome cooler (yes I know the number of pipeline is quadruple), nice memory OC though;

Getting to be a long F'in name but the stock cooler is always looking nice. Wusy might want to swap it for something more 'primal' but for everyone else likely a great choice of cooling.

While I'd prefer the Dual DVI VIVO model if they get this locally I'd probably go with it if it's not over $500CDN.

Notice in the benchmarking it does a very food job keeping up with the GF6800GT, beating it many times. Also just notice what struck me as interesting in the tests, the very high results of the 3D1 in the HL2 tests without AA/AF which had far better results than even the 2 GF6600GTs SLI'ed and better than the GF6800GT and X800XL by wide margins. Very interesting result for single card SLI, but also notice that it drops back to it's usual spot once AA/AF are enabled.

NICX.com now has these up on their site, with a tentative price of $494.94 CDN

Now just have to wait for stock to come in.

Its at same price than the 6800gt?

If yes, 6800 gt is still better.

Well my Yankee Doodle Dandies, this is in CDN funds (remember the sto0opid X800XL MSRP is $399CDN/$322US up here [$crew ATI's pricing BS!]), and the GF6800s in PCIe garb is $100+ more, and for something equivalent to HIS' quality you'd be talking about the gainwards which are about $200+ more. This is a very good price, considering all the gouging out there, and I'm only worried that it's a made up/temporary price until stock arrives, when it'll suddenly be more.

coylter, as for the GF6800GT, it's the match for the X800XL in most games, with some favouring the GT and some favouring the XL. And considering that even with the over-priced early examples of the X800XL out there now the GF6800GT in PCIe form is rarely if ever found at the same price.

Personally 494.94 is far cheaper than I expect to see it considering their price of the MSI and Sapphire cards.

And that's without mentionning this is the IceQII edition, which in and of its own is worth a lot for modders and for fans of very silent systems. Of course the slight extra performance and software doesn't hurt either, and for the freaks like me, the box art rounds the whole orgasmic deal! :tongue:
