Hi I am wondering if anyone knows where I can download the latest graphics card drivers for my 6600GT GFX card I have looked on nvidias website but it doesnt really specify what their drivers are for. I was also wondering what the best version was that I should use if I am going to be playing games like Doom 3 and Half life 2. Any help with this will be greatly appreciated

Thx

uh, that's a tough one.. you will have to ask nvidia about that. See, you'll need a different set of drivers for each of those two games, reinstalling the drivers each time you want to swap game, does get a bit annoying, but it is all gloryfied when the game actually works and all it eternal bliss!

Just personal experience on a 6800ultra PCI Express, Forceware 70.41 gave me the best performance. I haven't tried the newer ones but i guess you could give 75.90 a try.

IMO;

For stability , game IQ quality and some performance I'd recommend DH's ZeroPoint drivers (more current than Omega), but keep in mind still stuck in the 67.xx generation (Omega's 61.77);

for Raw power (what's IQ?) then DNA drivers would be my recommendation, keeps even more current than DH (71.80), but is mainly interested in speed not quality;

For speed AND IQ, as well as probably the MOST up to date tweaked drivers, XtremeG drivers;

They're relatively new, but I've read good things (haven't tested them like the others)

And then there's always the plain reference nV beta 75.90s SC metioned (currently on my laptop);

Not much for NV's own drivers huh?

I'm still using the plain ole 6693's. They have been plenty stable, but I am curious if I'd get a speed boost in Farcry and the Splinter Cell chaos theory demo if I try a beta.

Well if I'm going to use Betas might always use those that are properly tweaked! :lol:

I'm just using the reference Betas one on the Laptop since I was waiting for the Zero Point or Omegas to get updated, and I don't like the guy who makes the DNAs nor their ATI counterparts so I don't use them for personal reasons. The Extreme G's will likely be the ones I go with if they work well on laptops.

Remember, gaming on this thing is somewhat limited, so who needs raw power, I just liked the tweak additional features, cause a 25% boost going from 4 FPS to 5 fps in D3 just doesn't matter that much. :lol:
