Win Startup/Video/SP2 issues

Hello to you all, Im running a Soyo Dragon Ultra Motherboard with 512 mem, on
a 2.8 gig pent 4 processor. A year ago when the I built the pc it would not
start Xp when the video drivers for my Nvidia 5700 256 MB video card, so I
just never installed my drivers and windows ran fine, this mornig when I
installed SP2 and rebooted my pc is doing what it used to do, IT loads to the
logon screan saying starting microsoft windows, the it say preparing to stand
by and it shuts down. I am a mechanical engineer who is also A+ certifyed and
I cant figure this out and neither can anyone else, I have to have it running
by tomorrow, and I dont have the time or energy to reinstall everything.
