Andy,
If Craig can't get another nos boot I will send you the one I took off my
Sim when I replaced it, it's not ripped to shreds but is worn at the top,
will look better than no boot at all. Oh and a little tip, if the bumpers
are worn out in there just turn them round and elongate the hole so they fit
the wrong way round, the joystick will then feel as good as new!!! You are
really lucky having no dearest comrade burns on the surround, this is a small miracle
these are usually in a really bad way!!!
I would of really liked to have taken my own machine to Classic Gaming Expo
as a full motion one is actually a lot harder to play but:-
a) it's a total mission just to get it out of the house, you have to
completely dismantle it including half the base and movement mech or it
won't go through the front door.
b) it's nowhere near finished although I have managed to get hold of most
of the parts for it and it does all work and play correctly. There is just
no way I can get it finished and sorted out in time for the show even with
major amounts of help, it's a long term project with a load more work that
still needs to be done cosmetically to the cab and base. I think I wound up
with one of the worst condition Space Harrier Sims I could of found, but it
is more of a challenge sorting it out.
Good luck sorting the machine you have out, let me know if you need the
spare boot I have.
Regards
Nick
