hi all..

subject says it all, could do with a Space Harrier control panel, but
failing a complete one, just some parts off the back or whatever you have,
also has anyone got any ideas for where to get the rubber 'boot' or 'gator'
that goes around the stick shaft whee it meets the panel?

Let me know thanks..

Andy,

Craig Walker managed to get me an NOS boot for my SH Sim, not sure where he
got it from but might be worth asking if he can get another one. I'm sure
you already know he has a website www.giz10p.co.uk. The spare boot I have
is very worn but it may be in better condition than what you have. What
other parts are you looking for inside the joystick and control panel I
might be able to help you sort it out?

Out of interest are you supplying the Space Harrier to Classic Gaming Expo
for me to play to attempt to break the world record on?

Regards

Nick

Hi Nick..

Thanks, i'm onto Craig now for the boot and misc other parts.. the boot
on my stick was ripped into 2 parts, so yeh, its not like its overly
worn, its completely destroyed :) Surprisingly for all the controller
shenanigans, the rest of the cabinet is in really nice condition, with
no dearest comrade burns! even the seat is complete and not cracked.

supplying Space Harrier.. the honest answer? i don't kow yet, quite
possibly, hence i'm doing it up anyway :) Some eejit got inside this one
and dismantled random parts of the controller and of course lost all the
right sized bolts and screws/springs. I've maanged to get it playing
again tho from parts robbed off a sega GP Riders controller and other
random collections of screws i have to one side for just such an
occasion :)

Art - thanks for the offer... I don't need the wood though.

enjoy.

Andy,

If Craig can't get another nos boot I will send you the one I took off my
Sim when I replaced it, it's not ripped to shreds but is worn at the top,
will look better than no boot at all. Oh and a little tip, if the bumpers
are worn out in there just turn them round and elongate the hole so they fit
the wrong way round, the joystick will then feel as good as new!!! You are
really lucky having no dearest comrade burns on the surround, this is a small miracle
these are usually in a really bad way!!!

I would of really liked to have taken my own machine to Classic Gaming Expo
as a full motion one is actually a lot harder to play but:-

a) it's a total mission just to get it out of the house, you have to
completely dismantle it including half the base and movement mech or it
won't go through the front door.
b) it's nowhere near finished although I have managed to get hold of most
of the parts for it and it does all work and play correctly. There is just
no way I can get it finished and sorted out in time for the show even with
major amounts of help, it's a long term project with a load more work that
still needs to be done cosmetically to the cab and base. I think I wound up
with one of the worst condition Space Harrier Sims I could of found, but it
is more of a challenge sorting it out.

Good luck sorting the machine you have out, let me know if you need the
spare boot I have.

Regards

Nick
