I have a Time Pilot with a 19" Toei Musen CM-A20H monitor that was DOA.
I did a cap kit and the monitor came on but it's not right. When you
first turn on the game it takes a good min. to get going. During this
time the picture is dim, shrunk and scrambled. Once it gets warmed up,
the picture is not wide or high enough. On one side it looks like the
graphics are wrapping around from behind.?.? I replaced all of the caps
so I'm not sure what to do next, I tried all of the available
adjustments but I cant get it right. Also, the rings on the neck don't
seem to have any effect when I adjust them. Any help will be
appreciated, thanks...

Dave,
I have worked on a few toei's and they are a pain in the ass because
they are bloated with parts. Two chassis that come to mind when you
described your problem needed caps and flybacks.

Can I get a flyback for this monitor? Also, there are 2 surface mounted
transistors on the chassis, could one or both of these be part of the
problem? I agree about the bloating of parts, there are a ton of
components on this board, and I thought my Tempest monitor was bad.

I have couple of these chassis. If you want some parts let me know I could
take them out test and send them to you

Sounds good but I'm not sure what parts I need. I did replace the power
filter cap and the two transistors. That got the monitor going but the
colors are way off and it is only using a small area of the center of
the screen. Not sure if the flyback will effect this or something else?
Also, looks like the previous owner messed with the conv. on the neck
so I doubt I will ever get the colors right. If I think of anything, I
will let you know, unless you have any suggestions?
