bios mod to destruct 6800 NEEDED.

I need a bios mod for a 6800, i want to up the volts to the GC memory. i really wanna push this b1tch to destruction. bored of it got my trusty x800xt as back up.

Can't you just use a flash program to make a backup of your current BIOS, and edit the info with one o' those BIOS editors? No first-hand experience here, but I'm fairly sure I've seen it talked about around here. You just change the Vcore to 1.6 from 1.5 or something. Maybe you could try 1.7?

If that's not feasible, surely someone out there has figured out how to do the hardware Voltmod? Made a massive difference to my 9800Pro's overclockability . If you're not worried about blowing it up then a little play with a soldering iron shouldn't be overly scary to you.

i have heard of the bios MOD but i have no idea where to get it from, i have already tried to up the voltage from 1.5 to 1.7 but i have heard its the grfixc bios which had to be changed.

and where the hell to i get one of those grafix card bios editer`s ?

Again, I haven't tried this stuff (never handled a 6x00 series card at all), but I think there's a couple of links in <A HREF="http://forumz.tomshardware.com/hardware/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=687473#687473" target="_new">this</A> thread. (in the OC GPU forum).

About 6 posts down or something, I think posted by 'Markgun'.

Just a FYI, I think they're referring to the GT in that thread - no idea if it works for the vanilla.
