I have been looking at upgrading my system what I can decide is that if I got the PCI-e route should I got for say 2 nx6600 (128MB) or one nx6800 (256mb) would 2 of the lower model be faster then one of the higher model. I can only afford about $400 CDN right now, so that limits my choices.

What ever you do don't go PCI-Xx, either try AGP or PCIe

I'd say the two 6600's will be around the same as a single 6800. But that is only a guess. I'd go with the 6800 anyway, you might be able to unlock the core to the same spec as the 6800GT core

For $400 Cdn, get an X800 XL.

Much, MUCH better than a single 6800.

Nvidia has the edge in gaming?

Ati has been handing Nvidia it's ass since the 9700 PRO was introduced... the GeforceFX series was a joke compared to the radeons.

Only recently Nvidia has caught up to Ati again with the 6xxx series. It's pretty much a dead heat, with wins going to either depending on the price category.

And, hands down, the $400 Cdn PCI-e category is completely ruled by the Radeon X800 XL. It's as good as the 6800GT, in many cases it's better... for $100 Cdn cheaper.

Err... PCI work in PCI-X, and the PCI Parhellia actually takes advantage of PCI-X, therefore.... SMACK!

Also I think Ned was replying to the original post, which has since been edited.
