It came pre loaded with win 7 home premium and all the usual Asus stuff. I currently use the laptop for work as well as games.
The issues started to arise when I had to wipe home premium and install win 7 ultimate 64bit because of some of the restrictions the home version has.
It all went well initially, did a clean install of win7 ultimate, downloaded some of the necessary Asus software such as the ATK package, and a couple of others. I used driver genius to find and install the rest of the drivers.
That was a couple of weeks ago, and now it is starting to play up. Very slow response time when I am opening programs, tool bars containing groups of shortcuts are not loaded correctly, not recognizing inserted usb devices, taking a long time to log in - not start up, but after it gets to the welcome screen actually logging in, even when I right click on an item there is a 10-15 second delay before the menu pops up.
I thought it may be the drivers or something so I have downloaded the appropriate drivers from the Asus web site and installed and it made no difference. I am just about at the point where I wipe the whole lot and start from scratch, but this is the 2nd or 3rd time this has happened to me, and I am hesitant to do it again for fear of repeat in issues.
