I thought some of you may be interested in some BEEN THERE DONE THAT oc numbers on the X800XL. 459/600 for a score of 5682 in 3DMark05. Others have been pushed as high as 486/615. BTW I was putting the ice to it

Yup, stock. I don't OC when I wanna find out raw power!

Settings were all to 0 IQ enhancements, Trilinear enabled, all textures high quality.
Used ATiTrayTool (IIRC) to set those up.

Sorry but I'm still ahead of ya with my 6800ultra clocked at 460/1280 it's still pulling a good 6600ish, now just gotta volt mod ram to get the mem freq close to 1400, hopefully that'll get me 7000 marks without even getting a second 6800ultra for SLI.

I'm still trying ways to boost VGPU on the 6800ultra from 1.4 to 1.6 but so far all bios and pencil mods has been failures.


I think you should definently increase the voltage a bit on the x800xl, search around for a pencil mod.

If you think that my next option is volt modding I will try to figure it out. Im definetly at the edge of what this card will do as of now. Did you see my OC #'s in my sig? One thing is for sure with the P4, anything over about 4.2Ghz is nothing but show. Performance doesnt increase. I got it to boot at 4.8 but it wouldnt hold on. Thats not to bad for this X800XL compared to most of the OC's in the reviews.

But still that's plenty of bragging rights with your p4 at 4.8Ghz, i know i'm not bragging running Athlon64 3200+ @ 2900mhz with 1.9V

But too all honesty, even i'm not retarded enough to keep it running at 1.9V, so i prefer running at 2500mhz @ 1.45V

I'm pretty sure 1.5V works in BIOS (a good hold over until you get the 1.6 out of it) and 1.6 can only work with hardmods (there should be a guide or two lying around XS if you look).

This socket 775 is 1.4 stock and even at 4.8Ghz I stay under 1.6V I think the highest I have set the voltage is 1.575 Bios goes alot higher than that.

On the X800XL how much more juice do you think that it needs?
