Yup, stock. I don't OC when I wanna find out raw power!

Settings were all to 0 IQ enhancements, Trilinear enabled, all textures high quality.
Used ATiTrayTool (IIRC) to set those up.

Oh and: STOP THIS YOU TWIN PERSONALITY PUS-INFESTED CARCASS! [/good for flaming]

Crap, and I'm only pulling ~4600.

I'm slapping my new Maz4 4 GPU on tomorrow, I want to break the 5K barrier, at least.

Way to go on your post counts:D

Sorry but I'm still ahead of ya:D  with my 6800ultra clocked at 460/1280 it's still pulling a good 6600ish, now just gotta volt mod ram to get the mem freq close to 1400, hopefully that'll get me 7000 marks without even getting a second 6800ultra for SLI.

I'm still trying ways to boost VGPU on the 6800ultra from 1.4 to 1.6 but so far all bios and pencil mods has been failures.

I think you should definently increase the voltage a bit on the x800xl, search around for a pencil mod.
March 29, 2005 3:33:14 AM

That's going to die soon with 1.6V?! What cooling? Pelt + Water?

damn you know me too well... yeah DD NV waterblock with 226watt pelt on radiator.
March 29, 2005 3:52:31 AM

If you think that my next option is volt modding I will try to figure it out. Im definetly at the edge of what this card will do as of now. Did you see my OC #'s in my sig? One thing is for sure with the P4, anything over about 4.2Ghz is nothing but show. Performance doesnt increase. I got it to boot at 4.8 but it wouldnt hold on. Thats not to bad for this X800XL compared to most of the OC's in the reviews.

But still that's plenty of bragging rights with your p4 at 4.8Ghz, i know i'm not bragging running Athlon64 3200+ @ 2900mhz with 1.9V:D

But too all honesty, even i'm not retarded enough to keep it running at 1.9V, so i prefer running at 2500mhz @ 1.45V
March 29, 2005 11:41:37 AM

I'm pretty sure 1.5V works in BIOS (a good hold over until you get the 1.6 out of it) and 1.6 can only work with hardmods (there should be a guide or two lying around XS if you look).

Maxtor disgraces the six letters that make Matrox.
March 29, 2005 11:45:34 AM

This socket 775 is 1.4 stock and even at 4.8Ghz I stay under 1.6V I think the highest I have set the voltage is 1.575 Bios goes alot higher than that.

On the X800XL how much more juice do you think that it needs?

1.5 for me is actually worse than 1.6 through bios for whatever reason, 1.5 makes my computer refuse to boot, 1.6 it'll boot but crashes almost instantly in 3d. I really have no idea why it does that. i'm too lazy to actually physically solder mod, just want to pencil it, but doesn't seem to work, i just need to volt mod ram, because the 6800/x800 series cards gains much more performance from ram speed increase than core increase. Maybe i should just go pick up a second card.
March 29, 2005 4:51:11 PM

Sorry don't got answer to that since i don't know what's the default voltage on the card.

So pushing the memory will give you more of a boost than the pushing up the core? I didnt know that, in fact I thought that it was the other way around. I know that I have the pushed to the edge but I may be ablt to push my memory a bit more.

Well just on the 6800GT and higher and X800XL and higher, reason being they NEED more bandwidth.
March 29, 2005 10:45:08 PM

My card never gets to the point that it produces artifacts. I thought that they alway did that when they were pushed to hard. Mine does one of two things. It either freezes or more commonly the Graphics processor stops resonding. so it will go into recover. Is this common on water cooled cards? No artifacts just quits responding?

No idea, my card still artifacts sometimes when i clock it too high. Even though it has great cooling, i'm not sure maybe new 110nm core, but to all honesty i have no idea.

Naw nothin' yet.

Yeah, love the design and features though. HIS is seriously generous with their Platinum Packs. Although the games could've been more recent, it's still pretty darn cool to offer so much, not to mention the myriad of cables. HDTV-ready is a nice extra, a "just in case" feature really, as GrapeApe would see them.
