Hello all,
Installing properly my new MSI 6800 GT artifacts appears on the desktop containing green(mostly)& red points disappearing when raising Color Quality to 32 Bits. Directx cube freezes in DirectDraw & Direct3d tests. All programs runs fine except 3d games. A clean install of OS and/or MSI & NVIDIA whql drivers don't fix the issue. I reserve an exclusive 12V line(@36A)for VC power connector, proving all of 4 molex. I put my MSI 6800 GT $ PSU on my old P3-800 256MB Rambus and Directx tests pass. I put my old Creative TNT2 32MB on my new PC's AGP slot, passing all tests. My new system(see signature) pass memtest86, SuperPi & prime95. Not overclocking either CPU or GPU and all Temps and Voltages are normal except a very little high 12.58-12.70V in +12V rail. Official MSI VC BIOS.
When I got this VC it worked fine. Then I auto-overclocked to 410/1110MHz. At some time (I didn't know when) my VC failed.
Thank you so much for your help and attention.

Did you do a fresh install of the Operating system?
Is this the old operating system with a new card?
What was the old card?
Did you at least use/try drivercleaner?

The loving are the daring!

Hi Flinx,
Yes I did a fresh install whith my Win2K Pro SP4 and my WinXP SP2 but not fix the problem. My old card is a Creative TNT2 32MB and I placed on my new system (see my signature)in order to discard AGP slot and PSU issues. This one passed dxdiag tests. Anyway, this afternoon I received from MSI a new mobo BIOS v.1.62. I'll prove it.
Thanks and greetings.

Hello Ned,
No, I just have updated my mobo BIOS, via MSI Live Update, from v.1.40 to v.1.50 but this one don't fix the issue. Thanks for your attention.

Try your graphics card in another computer, maybe a buddy's of yours or something. See if you can isolate what is causing the problem, mobo/OS or Card.

Wait a minute, you have 1.5v going to your GPU??? Stock is 1.3v. When I tried 1.5v I had a number of issues with my 6800GT. Did you modify your cards bios?
