My cpu is Barton 2500+(oc to 3200+), my friend told me that nvidia 6800GT is too good to my system, the old cpu will be the bottleneck, seriously reduce the performance of graphic card. He said 6600GT is the best choice for Barton 3200+. Is that true?

your friend has not a clue in the world.

get the 6800gt even if you had a xp2000 get the 6800gt, massive improvement from a 6600gt.

only problem with getting a new card is that u wont get a faster CPU for that board, so to make best use of money either;

a. new AGP card now & get a new CPU & board with AGP slot later
or
b. go all PCI-E

it all depends on the money u have available & the card u want... AGP is good for another 2 years i would guestimate (then PCI-E v2 comes out lol)

Trust me I know what I'm doing... ooops, grab the cat...

Your friend speaks of things about which he has no experience.

The 3200+ is still a respectable platform, and will handle a 6800GT real nicely.
