Thanks

Takes up space on your HD =). Always good to run Disk Cleanup utility every once in a while, preferably before defraging.

I always go through a Disk Cleanup before I defrag.

If you visit the same pages often then they will load faster if it hasn't changed and yah it takes up space but you can set a max size for it. And like they said, delete them before you defrag.

Thanks, I do visit the same pages often, so if I'm not going to defrag should I just leave all the files in the Temporary Internet Files folder and set it to a higher size?
Is it a case of the higher the size of the folder, the quicker the loading times?

If you have a lot of space then you can set to a larger size but a larger cache doesn't mean faster times for a particular page. It means that more pages are stored in your cache so the often visited pages will load faster. So if a page you always visit and always has the same image then if will load off the cache on the drive rather then downloading it again.

Is it true that setting the size too high will slow down the system?

It could.

if you have broadband, (cable/dsl, etc.) u might as well set the limit as low as possible because they are useless at such high speeds.

Depends on what connection you have and how fast your computer is, so if you have a slow computer then it might slow it down.
