I'm just testing the market here to see how many people would be interested
in purchasing a new LOPT for a Sega MC2000s Monitor Chassis. The model I am
looking at getting reverse engineered is the High Focus version MSH1FAC13.
A minimum run for these would be 100 units, and the price will be dependant
on what is inside it, could be anything from $40 per unit to $100. I just
need to get an idea of how many people would be interested, this is a lot of
money to shell out just to fix my monitor and not worth it unless I can sell
most of them!!!!

In my opinion I wouldn't even bother with fixing ANY Sega/Nanao
monitor. For the cost of a flyback as you propose, I'd get a
replacement universal chassis from Alva Amusement instead.

Ken, I'm sure your right and it won't be worth doing, what chassis is the
one Alva Amusements are doing as if it's the 8liners on Jenshinn one I have
one and it's total rubbish, it's gonna be ebayed when I get something decent
working. It's got a duff power supply, it can't supply enough eht even with
the b+ turned right up, when you get bright colours which space harrier has
loads of power supply sags and the picture starts to go dark and then the
colours go wacko, it's like it's got some sort of automatic level balancing
control in it which is really annoying.

Nick

Alava actually has two websites: the one you just mentioned and also
this one: http://alvaamusement.com

The universal replacement Chassis they sell is NOT the Jenn Shinn. They
sell the Wei-Ya which is very good. I have used several
Wei-ya/Huai/Eygo replacement chassis over the years and have been very
pleased with every one of them.

Try the 820H chassis. On the alvaamusement.com site it is shown as
being priced at just $45. That's probably less than what it would cost
you to get a flyback for that Sega chassis.

Thanks Ken,

I'm probably gonna have to bite the bullet again and shell out again for
another brand new chassis.

Ken may I ask you what wei ya chassis you would recommend using on this tube
I have? It's a 21" Mitsubishi, 10 Pin neck, think it's 90 degree and uses a
high focus voltage so the lopt on the chassis needs to capable of this or I
won't be able to achieve good focus. The numbers on the sticker on the tube
are A51JCC01X. Yoke readings are 2.6 ohms horizontal, 56.3 ohms vertical.

Nick

Thanks Ken, I'll get in touch with them and see how much to get one shipped
to the UK. Hopefully I will get better luck with it than the Jenshinn. The
Jenshinn wouldn't be so bad if it were possible to disable what seems to be
some sort of automatic level control on the RGB Gains and beef up it's power
supply a bit.

Nick
