I just installed a new Happ Rotary Controller on my Guerilla War. The
U/D/L/R movements are fine, but the rotary control works backwards. There
doesn't appear to be any way to install the joystick backwards, so I think
it's installed properly. I also reversed the wiring plug for the rotary
controls, and it stopped working altogether, so it appears to be plugged in
correctly.

OK, but how do I do that? None of the manuals for the LS30 games have the
wiring schematics for the joysticks, and the Happ joysticks don't have
schematics either. Anyone have any suggestions that might help?
A couple of other notes: if you turn the joysticks enough, the game will
eventually lock up, and will put a "Joystick Error" message on screen. Also,
I tried the same joysticks on my Time Soldiers board and had the same
result, except that the game didn't lock up.
Anyone know how to isolate and fix this?
