Can anyone recommend a small medium resolution monitor suitable for a test
bench setup? I have an Amiga 1084 monitor for my normal test monitor which
is great but I find that I have a bunch of mid-late 80s Atari boards to
tinker with that require a med res display. My 29" JAMMA cabinet is
switchable from low-mid res, but it's a PITA to use as a test monitor...

Thanks in advance!

Music Dist uses a 13" on they're test rig that has an onboard switch
for std/med res and +/- sync. It is a new monitor (about a year or so
old) and they probably got it @ betson in the strip or sonny's sales &
service in sharpsburg. I would try betson first. You could remote mount
the onboard switches and it's ncie and small.

If you can't locate it contact me and I'll ask about it next time I'm
in.

I use a 1084 also and I'm curious about this. I haven't looked into it but
maybe an older model NEC Multisync?

There are certain old PC CRT monitors (that everyone seems to be getting
rid of nowadays) that do sync to medium res. They are generally higher
quality and were much more expensive when new than most monitors... I
have an "EIZO Flexscan F563-T" - its a 17" PC monitor, has BNC inputs a
D-sub input, i have my workshop pc running into the BNC inputs, and then
have my test rig running on the D-sub input... press a button on the
front of the monitor and it switches inputs, and et voila, you have a
medium res testbench monitor. (syncs as low as 30khz)

I have seen some cheap, new korean 17" crt pc monitors that say on the
side of the box their sync range is from 30khz up to 100khz... (30khz
being medium resolution) havn't tried these tho.. YMMV

enjoy
