Hi all, Im new to this group so hopefully Im in the right area.

I have been trying to install Quick Books V8.1 but I am getting the message
'16 bit Windows subsystem'
C:\Windows\System32\Autoexec.nt. The system file is not suitable for running
MS-DOS. Microsoft windows application. Choose 'close' to terminate the
application.

I have been told by the people I purchased the laptop off, that its because
of XP sp2.

Can someone advise if this is correct and if so, how do I go about fixing
it.

Thanks heaps
Debbie

Debbie

You are attempting to install an old version of Quickbooks that may not be
compatible with XP even if you could get it to load.. you should contact
Intuit and confirm this..

Thanks everyone for your advise.

Bud, your fix worked perfectly, it appears that my malware tampered with my
registry. Now the problem is fixed, I look forward to reading the rest of
the link.

Thanks again
