HL2 expansion

I stopped getting PC Gamer Magazine, but the <A HREF="http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=22449" target="_new">Inq says</A> that the magazine mentioned the expansion for HL2, called "Aftermath", is due out in the Summer. But then again, it surely is possible for Valve/Vivendi to miss that date.

And how about those system requirements metioned for the Lost Coast level and HDR. Wow, that's a tad bit more demanding than the current HL2.

Anybody get the magazine and willing to share more info?

I don't think minimum sys. req. will change. It will probably be something like to run with all this new stuff turned ON in game options you will need a big rig.

The 3D engine is the same, and Valve surely wants to sell as much expansion as possible. Game is businee, never forget it.

i would like to see an expansion that would let you play as barney, exactly following hl2 story line. the only problem would be the time when he was stuck pined down by the snipers. and of course a few things would have to change, like he would also have a gravity gun, the "backup" unit the scientist made. dont even cut freeman out, just have him be another computer controled character. how cool would that be to be at the begining of the game, you see freeman walking around, solve some puzzle or somthing to get him to the interogation room with you. then the part where he stayed behind to keep the gate open to let more reinforcments through, he would stay and have to fight off a rush of combine or somthing cool.

It had me surprised big time when I saw the IGN article. And I was at work seeing this.

They better use the proper HDR techniques, not that BS performance killer nVidia mode.

I think a cool FPS would be a game where you are the boss at some big, depressing office where everybody is unhappy and secretly hates each other. Instead of a weapon, you'd have a stapler. And when you try to fire the stapler, you instead would just say things like "mmmm.... yeeeeeeeah" and "mmm kayyyy?" and "if you could do that from now on, that would be terrrific", and they could use all the character's facial expressions from HL2 to show the horror and resentment of your employees. That would be a fun game.

I wouldnt surprise me but since ID already release their expansion pack Valve wont be a pu$$y this time and should release it on time.

HL2 sucked compared to doom 3, all though doom 3 was repatative it was atleast pleasing to the eye not sum rewhashed wannabe badass first person shooter which even halo clearly kicks its ass hands down.

oooo wait multiplayer HL2 what a load of crap, i still play halo 1 online 1 and a half years later and the halo servers are still full blows to HL2.

and now they have a expansion pack coming [-peep-] that [-peep-], dont waist ur money its not worth it unless ur realy desperate wait for halo 2 for the pc atleast it will last more than 15 hours worth of hl2 sh1t, and u will have betta online gaming.

valve and steam suck sh1t big time with there noses, i hope those crazy fuccks go bankrupt, cuz i waisted £20 on that fuccckin sh1t game which i waited 2 and a half [-peep-] years for. and no one wil buy it off me.
