Have got a Sapphire 9600XP AGP card but I am having problems with ATIs catalyst control centre drivers. I load .NET and load the drivers and everything seems ok but when I try to access control centre, nothing, just the egg timer for a few seconds.

I have reverted back to the old control panel which seems to work fine, just annoying that the control centre does not work. Anybody else had a similar problem??

On another driver based note; Can you assign driver settings to individual programs? I play a lot of Steam based games, Day of Defeat needs the gamma quite high on my monitor but Counter Strike:Source does not. Want to be able to assign colour/brightness/gamma settings to different games/applications without messing about with control panel and the screen settings. Anybody any ideas??

Unfortunately, to use individual game profile's you'll need to get the Catalyst Control Center to work...

Hmmm, I don't know why it'd fail to work like that.

On a side note, doesn't CS and Day of Defeat have their own Gamma settings in the game options?

I have sworn off CCC. I hate it with a passion. When I went to 5.4 my scores went to the crapper. I just went back to the ATI control panels 5.4. NO CCC!

i had a similar problem when i got my new x800pro, when i installed the catalysts with CCC the CCC itself just wouldn't bring up any UI, it fixed itself for me after i wiped all my video drivers (including my old geforce drivers) and reinstalled .net and catalyst and it all works fine and dandy now

and i think 'overdrive,' the software sapphire ships with its stuff allow you to create games profiles aswell

As far as geting CCC to run, let me tell you what worked for me.

1st = If you're using Zone Alarm as a firewall, uninstall it. It stall's the CCC services during windows startup, and fukcs everything up

2nd = Uninstall .NET Framework 1.0 or 1.1, whatever you have, and install the <A HREF="http://msdn.microsoft.com/netframework/downloads/updates/default.aspx#.NET Framework 2.0 Beta SDK and Redistributable" target="_new">NET Framework Beta 2.0</A>.

After that, your CCC should start and run just fine. NET Framework 2.0 also allows your computer to boot up quicker than with the earlier version, something everyone here can appreciate.

I'd also like to say, that I dont use that crappy CCC because it sucks ass and is slow and I hate ATi for enabling features that are only available if you use it instead of the regular control panel and I know that this is a really long sentence but you dont really care now do you?
