Hi, I just got a new hard drive, so I installed Windows XP on the new
drive.
Originally, I had 2 hard drive, one for windows and the other for
storing data (music, movies, etc).

I decided to install Windows XP on the new hard drive, so I attached
the new hard drive and the storage hard drive (200GB).

After installing the XP, I installed SP2 and all the necessary updates
and the computer was running ok.

However, when I restarted my computer, before the Windows logon
screen, there were error messages that I couldn’t really recall.
Before the logon screen, It was checking errors on my storage hard
drive and saved some of the directories into just one file with the
size 32 kb and no extension.

For example, if the directory name was "blah", and the storage hard
drive letter was "d:\", instead of d:\blah, now I have a file
"blah" without any exensions, and with 32 kb in size.

Anyone knows what this is about?

CHKDSK is a utility that finds lost file fragments and saves them for you, correcting errors on the drive (see 'error checking' in
the help)
