Program Start Up problems

Hi I'm new here and I really really hope somebody can help me with a
rather annoying problem thats cropped up from nowhere. Basically here
is my problem.

Mainly most of my programs will not start up when I start my pc. At the
moment I'm having to put things in the start up folder on the start
menu. I have tried to add things using the TuneUp StartUp Manager in
TuneUp Utilities 2004 - but this frustratingly fails to work (it won't
even delete rehistry start up entries). I have tried uninstalling and
reinstalling programs, but still they dont get added to the start up
entries in the registry. So I reformated my hard disk and reinstalled
Windows - but the problem has come back again - only a few hours after
the reinstall!

To make matters worse, if I uninstall programs that have entries in the
registry start up, I can't get rid of the start up. I've tried deleting
these start up things in the registry and using msconfig, but somehow
they keep being recreated!

I have run a virus scan using Norton and run an Ad-aware scan but
nothing comes up - afterall I only reinstalled Windows this morning! I
am using Windows XP Home Edition and I have Service Pack 2 installed.
If anybody can help me or has any ideas then I'd be really really
grateful, thanks.

This sounds like a problem caused by a software that you have
installed.
May be TuneUp Startup Manager is messing it up? Or something else?
Try another startup manager.
InControl Startup Manager is at http://www.get-in-control.com
