I am using this VGA card on the system below and I have some strange results only on the following two games:

WORLD OF WARCRAFT
1. There are horizontal lines stretching across the screen. The lines stem from text and graphics on the screen and maintain the same color as the text/graphics they stem from.
www.worldofwarcraft.com has no good suggestions.
After talking with some nerds, it seems WOW has alot of glitches in general.

ROME: TOTAL WAR
1. The graphics in some areas extend into infinity.
www.totalwar.com has no good suggestions.

I've tried three different VGA drivers from NVIDIA's web, and now I am using the most current driver: 71.89
Problem is persistent.

Just wondering is there is a known solution to these problems, as I cannot seem to find one.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

CPU: AMD Athlon XP 2800+
MOBO: Socket A
MEMORY SETUP: Dual-channel Micron Original (2x512MB)
OS: WIN XP Professional SP2 (required for WOW)
SOFTWARE: DX 9.0B, Windows Media Player 10
Sound Card: I have one
OVERCLOCK: yeah right!

Sorry dude, not much to say. If it's OK in most games and only has glitches in a couple, chances are it's a driver issue. And I doubt the Geforce4 series gets alot of attention when it comes to drivers anymore.

FUGGIT !
I'm getting a 6800 GT Right now!

A very strange thing...
My GFs computer also has a Gainward GeForce4 Ti4600. No problems when the games are run on her machine. Same driver.

Her PC is Pentium4 CPU.

Mine is Xstacy VGA card.

I tried 66.93

And I could not even run Rome:Total War.

Reading the RTW web and other sites, many ppl are having trouble with these drivers. only the 71.xx drivers seem to clear the issues with this game.

Oh wait, her computer has a GF4 6800 GT. I better check my credit card bill!
Haha...
so where is the Gainward card? rats!

Well I did it!

Wow still has streaks.
It's only with my graphics card. Not a big deal. Everything else is smooth. So my conclusion is that WOW has issues with my graphics card.

I was too busy last night with my computer to run 3Dmark or check out RTW, of course I found the time for WOW. (for the perverts on this forum: not "that" kind of busy)

Anyway thanks for the help!

Solution: GeForce 6800 !
If I'm gonna go for this card I'm gonna do it with a bang and go ULTRA-style!

SWEET!

If you're looking for a little better price, then there is a 6800GT on sale at Newegg for $309.
