Can anyone help. I have the above named router, and find that I can't host
internet games, I can join fine. I have tried opening ports and even
disabling the firewall but still the same prob', any help or suggestions
would be appreciated.

You will need to put the computer you are hosting with in the DMZ or at
least open the ports. Router works by port forwarding, that is why you can
join. But outsiders need to be able to start the 'conversation' when you
are the server. Check your set manual for how to put a computer on the
exposed side of your DMZ on the router. Note this will leave that computer
wide open for those of evil intent.

Have you correctly added the 'virtual servers' your game needs? You need
to enable port forwarding to bypass the NAT. You could try enabling UPNP
if your game supports it.

Open ports are *not enough*. The router is a NAT box so inbound
connections cannot connect to any machine but the router. You need to
forward ports to make your server visible to the internet, that's what
the 'Virtual Server' menu does. If you're lucky there's a named entry
for your game.

Yes, the internet can only see the cable modem/router address, nothing
inside your network is visible without port forwarding. Forwarding
simply connects ports on your router to ports on a local machine, you
still talk to the router from outside.

All that info for something so simple
Michael
Sometimes we take the simple things for granted.
