Why don't the x800xl's require a power connector?

Hi I ordered an x800xl that has not arrived yet and have recently been feeling some regret. I have been reading these cards do not (except for 1) have an external power connector. I understand many people have been using these successfully, but I dont understand why people say that these cards should have an external molex connector. Are they ok without one? I have read 75watts is the max the pci-e slot can give off, do these cards really need more? Also, I have yet to order my mobo, but was considering the Soltek SL-K8T890Pro-939. The thing about this motherboard is that it only has a 20 pin connector. Now, would this be a dangerous combo? With only 20 pins on the psu, and no external power connector for the XL? Thanks

You don't have anyting to worry about. The card doesn't need the extra power connector because it gets enough juice from the PCIe slot. The x800xl that does have the extra connector doesn't seem to benefit from having it. The x800xl was designed so that it couldn't reach the speeds of the x850xt, so that way if people want more powerful card that they have to pay for it instead of OC'ing the lower card to get there.

Two reasons:

1. They are created on the smaller 11 micron process instead of the 13 micron process used in the X800 PRO/X800XT/X850XT

2. They are clocked quite a bit lower than the X800 PRO/X800XT/X850XT

you need an adaptor to plug your 20 pin into the 24 pin on the mobo.

Santa is a clever fraud. Those donkey's don't fly at all, they simply wear an antigravity device bolted into their cranium, which utilizes antennae that resemble antlers.

It's all a crazy sham.
